Good Crieff!
We are a little late in posting this review but - even though we stayed at Merlindale B&B back in September 2023 - the experience is still fresh in our minds.Already from initial e-mail contact with Helen, we knew we would be in good hands and upon arrival at Merlindale (a leisurely 10-minute walk from the town centre) it was just as lovely as in the photographs.After a friendly welcome from Paul, we were shown to the Thistle Room - beautifully decorated & immaculately clean - and treated to a complimentary coffee, and a wee dram of the local whiskey :)Breakfast at Merlindale B&B was really great (and there was plenty of it too!) with coffee, juices, porridge, toast, eggs cooked to order... as well as fruit, cereals, yoghurts, etc.Our stay at Merlindale B&B was simply delightful from start to finish. The only negative... that we just stayed one night! xx

Lovely Stay
We had a lovely stay at this period B&B with its large comfortable room and excellent facilities. We were warmly welcomed and looked after by Paul and well fed by the excellent breakfast in the mornings (thanks Helen). We would definitely recommend a stay here and would return when next staying in this area

Fabulous
One of the best B&Bs I've ever stayed in.Paul and Helen made us welcome the minute we arrived and went out of their way to help us and make sure our stay was as good as it could be.Our room was fantastic, super comfortable bed, beautiful sheets, plenty of tea and coffee (fresh coffee bags, a huge plus as a coffee lover) and even a small welcome whisky.Our room had its own bathroom directly across the hall (literally 2 steps across- although the other rooms are all ensuite) There were dressing gowns in the room to use when going across- so it was really easy and no inconvenience at all.Breakfast was fantastic, homemade yogurt, plenty of GF choice for my OH and all freshly cooked to order. Good coffee too and plenty of it.This is a B&B at its best, way better than a hotel.Thankyou Paul and Helen, we loved our stay.

Amazing B & B, the best I have ever stayed in, nothing was a problem, the room immaculate and the food divine. Cant rate this establishment high enough. Fantastic stay highly recommend. The owners are lovely people who really care about your stay and experience.

Everything from the start of our 3 night stay to the end was fantastic. Paul and Helen were amazing hosts. We stayed in the Bramble room which was well laid out including a wee dram and home made shortbread and had a beautiful en-suite. Breakfast was amazing too with excellent choices including home made products. Would give 6 stars if I could.

So this was our second stay in the last year with Paul and Helen at Merlindale and once again it didn’t disappoint, couldn’t be made more welcome again and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Perfect place to stay
We arrived and were greeted by one of the owners who was friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and luxuriously decorated.Our bed was comfortable and the linens used were of a top quality. The thistle room has bathroom opposite not en auite but this wasn't an issue.Within a short walking distance to the town to shops, pubs and restaurants Merlindale has the perfect location in Crieff.Breakfast we were met by the other owner who showed us a selection of home made starters such as granola fruit salad etc and juices.The main course was perfectly cooked and delicious.Nothing is a problem for the hosts and we will definitely be returning to Merlindale and would highly recommend to others.

This is an excellent B & B with a terrific attention to detail.Paul was a first class host.Our bedroom and en-suite were spacious and comfortable I loved the special facecloth for removing makeup.The breakfast was beautifully cooked and presented.We will definitely be back.

A fabulous stay
We were blown away by the friendly welcome and fantastic room. Everything exceeded expectations and the breakfast was out of this world. Would certainly recommend a stay here.

From the welcome when we arrived and Paul's helpful relaxed manner until our departure the following day Merlindale was absolutely excellent. Beautiful room and ensuiteevery detail had been thought about. Great choices for breakfast and well prepared and presented. Helpful suggestions for good eating places too.

Excellent stay at a very welcoming B and B
With now living in the northern highlands of Scotland and travelling hundreds of miles each week with working throughout Scotland and England i tend to stay in lots of places but admittedly i then rarely write online reviews of where i stayed, this time i've made an exception. Paul and Helen are the excellent owners of this B and B and in particular during recent times you often wonder why certain people own the likes of shops and other establishements when their customer services skills are poor BUT Paul and Helen are made for running a B and B with their personalities! I'm the type of person who just likes to simply check in and then be left alone in a B and B rather than the host pestering you all the time - i was warmly welcomed by Helen at the front door and Helen gave me the simplest of the "what's where" and left me to it. Now for those who do like more details and ask lots of questions that's fine both hosts will accomodate this and are very knowleadgable of the area and will also go above and beyond on anything you may require during your stay with them. One example of numerous is on my last day i needed an early breakfast due to work commitments, this was done without hesitation and both Paul and Helen were up delivering once again a great breakfast service to me. Very cosy and peaceful rooms,tea/coffee facilities also along with the additional nice touches of shortbread and a "wee dram" in your room. Perfect location with only a few minutes stroll into town so you have the peace at night but only a stonethrow away from your main dining places on the main street. I can't mention any way in which they would improve upon this excellent B and B - just keep doing what you're doing!

The Bramble Room - Merlindale
My wife and I always adhered to our strict policy of never returning to any bed and breakfast establishment due to the hundreds on offer in Scotland. We've now returned to Merlindale on 3 occasions and loved every minute of those visits.The rooms are always immaculately maintained and well presented. Bathrooms arespacious, modern and theres not a hint of a broken tile anywhere. The power showers are a must as are the traditional style slipper baths.The breakfast options are plentiful whilst the full Scottish cooked breakfast is always served piping hot. Unsurpassable quality and taste.The hosts Helen and Paul are exceptionally pleasant to deal with. You honestly cannot meet a nicer couple. As for Louie the Cockapoo - he just completes the wonderful ambience at Merlindale.If you're not an animal lover then don't fret as Helen and Paul confine their handsome canine friend to the hosts section of this beautiful large Victorian home.When everything is perfect at Merlindale and you don't want to be treated as a mere number at a larger hotel then why settle for second best - we don't. We'll be returning for our fourth visit next year. 5 stars across the board including wee Louie the cockapoo.

Again we had a lovely stay at Merlindale.Very friendly,a really lovely breakfast, a very comfortable bed.Generally beautifully presented accommodation.It does have a home from home quality about it butquite an up market version.Doubtless we will be back.

Wonderful stay
What a fabulous find. Paul and Helen are wonderful hosts. The Merlindale is beautiful and very tastefully decorated. We stayed in the Bramble room. Big, comfy bed with large, bright en-suite and everything is immaculate. Paul is extremely welcoming and Helen makes the best breakfast, really sets you upfor the day. Looking forward to returning. Thanks Paul and Helen for a very relaxing weekend.

A wonderful one night stay where the hosts were very welcoming and everything was of aFirst class standard including an excellent breakfast!

Superb, as always!
From the very start of our two night stay the service was brilliant.Greeted by owner Paul, we were again welcomed to the beautifully appointed Merlindale.This is the fourth time we have stayed there.The attention to detail is superb, above and beyond most hotels, from the dainty whisky decanter with a welcome drink to the homemade shortbread, and excellent breakfast cooked to order by Helen. It really is a luxury B&B! Our room had a superking bed and the most gorgeous en-suite bathroom with roll-top bath and separate shower. We will be coming back next year!!

Excellent B&B
This B&B came highly recomemnded by friends who stayed last year. Reputation is fullydeserved. Hosts Paul and Helen were friendly and helpful, rooms were spacious with supercomfortable bed and pillows, breakfasts plentiful - home made yoghurt, granola and muesli plus a choice of cooked dishes. I will definitely stay there again.

Perfect base
We had a wonderful stay. Perfect location just at the top of the High Street. The hosts were extremely welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us.The rooms were well decorated and created a really chilled environment. Beds were very comfortable and the showers perfect. Possibly one of the cleanest places I’ve ever visited- so clean it took a while to realise there was a glass shelf underneath the sink. It was sparkling.Breakfast was perfect. There was a great choice of cereals, granola, fresh fruit and yoghurt which was followed by anything you wanted- the fry had haggis and black pudding which were both delicious.We will definitely return.

OUTSTANDING!!
My husband and I stayed at the Merlindale B&B for 3 nights and it was clear from the moment we were warmly met on our arrival by Paul that we had found something very special. We had the stunning Bramble Room with its beautiful en suite. Breakfast was delicious with homemade cereals, yoghurts and simply the best cooked Scottish breakfast. Paul and his wife Helen were warm and friendly and could not have done more to make this a more memorable experience. We are seasoned travellers and the Merlindale stands head and shoulders above all others. Thank You !!

This was our third visit to Merlindale and a birthday treat for my wife.Paul and Helen were perfect hosts as always, the breakfast is superb with top quality ingredients (bacon, sausage, black pudding etc.) and the accommodation is outstanding.Highly recommended.

Very comfortable room, beautifully decorated and with a wonderful bathroom. But it’s the extra service that makes Merlindale very special! Getting coffee or tea served at arrival, making reservations at a local restaurant for you, it makes you feel really grateful. And then in the morning, a very tasteful breakfast is served. Amazing B&B!
We had a lovely 2 night stay a Merlindale. Helen and Paul are welcoming and friendly hosts, and have a beautifully decorated and appointed property. Our room, the Bramble Room was stunning! The house is very peaceful, we didn't hear any other guests until we met at breakfast. There is a large choice for breakfast, my husband assured me the full scottish breakfast was outstanding. Breakfast has a very relaxed atmosphere, there was no rush and we appreciated the 9.15 breakfast slot. We enjoyed our stay so much we have already booked to return for another stay.

Fantastic!
We had a 3 night stay at Merlindale and enjoyed every minute. We had a twin room with ensuite and it was spotlessly clean. The beds were comfy, the towels plush and the best part of all was, as others have said, the breakfast! So much choice and all of it was fresh, plentiful and delicious. Homemade granola with homemade yogurt? Yes please! We didn’t need lunch on any of the days we were there.We were a tiny bit apprehensive when we saw that it was located on main road but rest assured it was quiet at night.Paul and Helen are wonderful hosts and our only regret was saying goodbye.

A very comfortable stay
From the moment of booking to check out, the customer service was fantastic. We were warmly welcomed and made to feel at home during our stay. The room was so comfortable and well appointed. The breakfasts were wonderful with lots of healthy choices. We would definitely stay again!

You need to stay at this B&B, run by Paul and Helen, who are incredibly charming, genuine, and wonderful-to-chat-with hosts. The decor is eclectic but elegant, the rooms are bright and beautiful, and the breakfasts are flawless. Everything is run very well. You will be impressed. We will be back!

One night stay in Crieff
Our travel schedule allowed us only one night in Crieff. I would thoroughly recommend Merlindale Bed and Breakfast. The owners Paul and Helen clearly put a great deal of thought, effort and effort into Merlindale.

Awesome - a gem sitting on top of Crief
Paul and Helen made us feel at home from the moment we arrived through to departure. The rooms are clean and classy (and include complimentary drams of the Loch Lomond for those who partake).It's ideally placed for local attractions (we were on a regular pilgramage to the Glenturret Distilery where Mark Donald and his team at The Lalique serve some of the finest cuisine known to mankind). On the subject of food - Helen's full Scottish breakfast is a delight to behold, forget the rest for breakfast Merlindale is the best...Would we go back again - try and stop us ;-)

The warmest of welcomes to the most stunning home
Paul and Helen Forsythe welcomed us (a party of 5 adults) very warmly….the friendliness and hospitality was on show from minute one. Prior to our stay we had been supplied with information to guide our restaurant choices and also details of local taxi firms….nothing was too much trouble for our hosts and they accommodated all of our requirements…..the bedrooms…wow….they are incredibly chic, stylish and comfortable…..the bed was crazy good and the linen pressed to within an inch of its life…..the cleanliness of this B&B is of the highest level I have ever known…..breakfast was plentiful and had additional touches that just raised the bar, home made granola, home made yoghurt and just beautiful presentation and service…..one last thing….:little touches that really matter….a wee dram of of Loch Lomond single malt in a decanter in the bedrooms……I really hope to stay here again because it was just everything we could have wished for and more at an exceptionally reasonable price….thank you for making our road trip special.

Beautiful Stay
This was actually my first time staying in a B&B, I’ve usually only booked hotels, so wasn’t sure what to expect! From the moment we arrived I knew we had made a wise choice indeed!The welcome was warm and very accommodating. The room itself (Bramble room) was lovely! All the facilities you could ask for - even some lovely homemade shortbread and a wee dram of whiskey. The bathroom was massive and had a lovely bath and excellent shower (great water pressure!). The bed was a large bed (I think maybe 2 singles together) and there was a TV and hairdryer in the room. Breakfast both mornings was beautiful! Between us we sampled the waffle, smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and the full Scottish. They were all cooked to perfection and the poached eggs were the perfect amount of runny yolk!Both hosts couldn’t do enough for you and were both so friendly and made us feel right at home! We visited for a wedding but I heard them giving other guests lots of suggestions on places to visit in the area.If you’re thinking about booking this place don’t hesitate, you won’t regret it! We would definitely return if we are in the area again.Thank you for such a fantastic stay.

We stayed with Paul and Helen whilst attending a wedding in nearby Comrie.From the initial enquiry through to departure, attention to detail and advice was spot-on.We could not have wished for a warmer welcome, fantastic rooms and excellent breakfast choice.The house is beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean.Our hosts were delightful throughout and nothing was too much trouble, the service received was the best we have experienced in a long while and the recommendations for restaurants were much appreciated.We would definitely recommend staying at Merlindale and hope to visit again in the not too distant future.Thank you again P&H.

Brilliant B&B with fabulous hosts
We were staying at Merlindale as we had a family wedding in the area. Paul and Helen were exceptional hosts right from the get go with brilliant communication. The rooms were immaculate and we absolutely loved the free standing bath alongside thoughtful touches in the room. Great breakfast, Paul and Helen were super accommodating with gluten free and dairy alternatives. Would highly recommend to anyone. Thank you both again for a great stay.

Beautiful B & B
Merlindale was a lovely stopover for us on our way back down from the Highlands. We travelled as a couple with our two grown-up daughters and had booked two rooms. The photos looked lovely online but we've so often been disappointed: not here! The rooms were stylish and pristine, but with a lot of character intact, and each had an incredibly beautiful en-suite. The owners have invested much time, money and care in this place, and with the attention to details and cleanliness, this really shows. The building itself is a beautiful, large,Victorian house, and our host, Paul, could not have been more helpful or thoughtful: nothing was too much trouble and he clearly really enjoys meeting people from the various walks of life that are lucky enough to cross his threshold. We never met Helen, but she was very busy in the kitchen obviously preparing our delicious breakfast, which was served, incidentally, on proper and very beautiful crockery 'made in England'. We are seasoned and exacting travellers, and will definitely return here if we get the opportunity. Do not hesitate!

Very nice B&B in Crieff
Merlindale is an exceptionel B&B in Crieff with very friendly hosts Helen and Paul. The breakfast is one of the best we ever exprienced in a B&B, almost to good to be true. The rooms are also very nice and clean. Crieff is also the ideal place to explore the area with lot's of attractions in close driving range. You can also do lot's of activities nearby, for example hiking.

Short weekend break
Hi; Had the pleasure of staying at the Merlindale for a couple of nights, where Paul was an excellent host throughout the visit. We stayed in was the Orchid Room on the ground floor; the room had recently been refurbished and the attention to detail was excellent; the bed and coverings were very comfortable; the shower, a large walk in shower, was excellent, and there was plenty of storage space for a few days clothes, plus the little extras on your arrival, shortbread & whisky what more could you want. The breakfasts, made by Helen, in the morning were also of a high quality with some great home-made products and the best of Scottish fare to get your day off to the best possible start.The location is perfect just a 10-minute stroll from the town centre where you have a choice of several excellent restaurants, I would have no hesitation in recommending this bed and breakfast to anyone who is considering visiting the area.Cheers George

A comfortable stay with attentive service.
Great service, spotlessly clean and comfortable room with fantastic en-suite facilities. Cooked breakfast was outstanding. With small and welcoming touches of home made shortbread and a wee dram, Paul and Helen make guests feel special. Having arranged to leave our luggage early, we were very happy to be greeted by Paul informing us that our room was ready and early check-in was no problem. Would thoroughly recommend this B and B to anyone planning to stay in Crieff.

Our room and sumptuous bathroom were spotlessly clean, as was the whole B&B. The interior decor is both fresh and done in beautiful period style. Paul and Helen are the most wonderful hosts - friendly, welcoming and can’t do enough for you. There’s a wonderful choice of breakfast options and they’re beautifully cooked. Beyond excellent, all.

Wonderful stay at the Merlindale
We stayed at the Merlindale as part of our visit to the Glenturret distillery and Lalique restaurant. The Merlindale was perfect, comfortable, clean and most of all, very welcoming.Paul and Helen were wonderful.There were many home made and locally sourced foods at breakfast.A wonderful experience and highly recommended.It will be our choice if we ever visit Crieff again, which is very likely.

Stayed for 3 nights whilst in the area for a wedding.Right from arrival Paul was a great host and with Helen really made our stay one to remember. The room was lovely and breakfast spot on. They have reset the bar for anywhere we stay in the future.

Brilliantly Relaxing and Friendly
Melindale's is a wonderfully relaxing B&B woth an amazing host family that makes you feel welcome the moment you walk through the door. The Bluebell room with private ensuite is highly recommended as it is comfortable, spacious, and has all the comforts of home, including TV and Netflix. I would recommend Merlindale's to anyone traveling through or to Crieff. A must stay!

It is warm, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds and has lots of extra touches which make it a home from home. The breakfast is excellent with lots of homemade products; muesli, granola, marmalade and even yoghurt! A full cooked breakfast is also offered but the fresh fruit and muesli was enough for us. The welcome tray with a local whiskey and homemade shortbread was another lovely touch. We would highly recommend Merlindale and it will be our 'go to' if we're ever lucky enough to return to Crieff.

Simply Superb
When in Crieff look no further. This is the place to stay. Sumptuous en-suite rooms decorated with taste and beds so comfortable, they guarantee you sleep like a baby. For breakfast the choice is amazing. Cold counter beautifully presented with plentiful home made products. And for afters if you have the appetite their cooked selection has such a varied choice of top quality food. Highly recommended and excellent value for money. Thank you 🙏🏼

Birthday break
My sister and I had the perfect birthday break at Merlindale. Helen and Paul are superb hosts-welcoming, friendly and helpful. Excellent service, very comfortable room. The breakfast was delicious with granola/muesli, and yoghurt all home made, and cooked options tasty and beautifully presented. Helen and Paul set themselves very high standards and do everything to make your stay memorable and relaxing. Thank you. Will be back.

Exceptional clean room and sole use bathroom was super. Was not a problem at all, as dressing gowns and slippers were provided, although we didn’t really need to use them as only opposite room door. Breakfast was super and cooked to order. Paul was a very welcoming host and helpful of local knowledge. Would definitely recommend stay here rather than any hotel stay in the area. Would definitely stay again.

Great stay!
Visiting Crieff for the first time and can highly recommend the Merlindale. From the moment we arrived Paul made us feel welcome and felt like we have been visiting for years! Our room (Bluebell) was large and very comfortable with an awesome roll top bath in the en-suite which sadly didn’t have a chance to use. Teas and coffees available in the room, plus a “wee dram” just added to the home from home feel. Didn’t meet Alison as she was, I presume, hard at work producing the fabulous breakfasts! If we visit this beautiful region of Scotland again, we will certainly be back.

Merlindale is very well organised, beautifully furnished and in a good location for accessing Crieff and the surrounds. Several minutes walking distance to town centre, with off street parking. Paul and Helen are also very hospitable hosts, it’s a great place to stay.

Excellent accommodation
It was a beautiful house and we had a large bedroom with lots of lovely extras in the room such as home made short bread and whiskey, slippers and bathrobes being some them. There was a huge bathroom with lovely body wash hand cream and a make up removing cloth. The breakfast was very good quality with lots of choice. I would recommend this accommodation which was a few minutes walk into the centre of Crieff.

A fantastic B&B
We arrived to a warm welcome from Helen, and we’re shown to our beautifully appointed room. We had time for a quick and very welcome cuppa, then it was out and about in Strathearn to catch up with family.After a great night’s sleep, we sadly had to drive to Norfolk so we’re on a tight time schedule. Helen and Paul were happy to accommodate our request for an early breakfast which, when it arrived, was simply superb. Lots of home made fare (muesli, yogurt, marmalade etc) and a full Scottish breakfast to die for.The dining room was, like the other parts of Merlindale, tastefully and imaginatively decorated.A wonderful, if all too brief, stay. We’ll be back

We chose to stay at Merlindale after staying there two years ago and stayed for two seperate nights to break our journey north and south while on holiday. The B&B is excellent - very comfortable and well-appointed with friendly and helpful but not obtrusive owners. A luxurious break after an all day car journey!

Our extended heading home stopover
We last stayed with Paul and Helen in 2021 whilst on our way to the Orkney Islands and this time we stayed whilst we were returning from the Outer Hebrides. In brief we decided to stay at Merlindale again because the place was absolutely exemplary last time out and I am happy to report that everything in terms of quality of service and accom has remained as was. Our room The Calluna, was beautifully furnished, the bed was exceedingly comfortable, bathroom was terrific and, despite overlooking the road, we were not disturbed by road noise,despite having our windows open. Our traditional breakfasts were plentiful, tasty and well cooked served in a lovely dining room. Paul and Helen are genuinely friendly hosts who warmly welcome you and assist with whatever they can, including evening meal dining recommendations, they deserve to be succesful. An ideal location for Perthshire and all it has to offer. Maybe the next time we stay we won't be in transit somewhere. Oh nearly forgot Louis the dog, what a cracker!!

I have just returned from a great stay here of 4 nights. I have enjoyed my break here on a motorcycle tour of Highlands. I was made most welcome by Paul & Helen the owners of this fine B&B . My room was light and airy with comfortable bed along with a huge en-suite bathroom with free standing bath and separate large shower ( power shower). Breakfast was a total delight fruit and yogurt followed by a large full Scottish fried breakfast. On top of that my and a pal’s bikes were in their garage safely tucked away.Highly recommend this couple’s guest house. Thank you Derek

A warm welcome awaits
From the moment you step through the door at The Merlindale you feel welcome. Paul and Helen have thought of everything from the make up remover towel, the wee dram in your room and an offer of fresh tea or coffee to help you settle in. Very comfy bed and a nice airy room (The Orchid). Ensuite was a great size. Breakfast made to order so lovely and fresh, home made muesli and granola along with other choices also a lovely touch. Merlindale has to be one of the best places we've stayed at. The rooms are all beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The shortbread and 'wee dram' provided were much appreciated. We were made to feel very welcome by Paul, who also gave us advice on places for an evening meal in Crieff. There was a very good breakfast selection. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay at Merlindale.

The Bramble Room - Merlindale
My wife and I love travelling around Scotland every now and then for a few days' break. We've never returned to any Hotel or B&B simply because there are far too many to experience in this gorgeous country of ours. Merlindale is the exception to the rule whereby we've now stayed at the' Bramble'room on two occasions. The beautiful detached Victorian building nestles amongst other stunning Victorian architecture in the local vicinity. Parking spaces within the grounds are more than ample so no need to park on the roadway outside. The bedrooms are modern and freshly decorated with a comfortable bed. The wi-fi, which is very important to me, is spot on with a faultless connection. The bathroom is immaculate - no broken tiles to cut your feet on. Both the power shower and roll top bath appear new and in immaculate condition. The rest of the bathroom suite and tiled walls are likewise fresh and perfect order throughout. The cooked breakfasts are the best I've ever experienced. The portions are plentiful and piping hot. The yoghurts are homemade, fruit is fresh every day whilst the shortbread in the rooms is up there with the best. The hosts Helen and Paul are always smiling and most attentive without being overbearing. We believe it is up there with the best value-for-money establishments in the area. Incidentally, we've now booked to stay at the 'Bluebell' room at Merlindale later this year.

Pleasant short stay
I was visiting Crieff while attending a conference. The breakfast was excellent, and I was made to feel very welcome in this B and B. If I travel to Crieff again, I will first look to stay again at the Merlindale.

I stayed at the Merlindale for four nights with 3 other friends on a motorcycle touring holiday.We were warmly met on arrival by Paul,the owner.He opened up his garage to allow us to park our 'bikes and took us into a beautifully presented property.We each had a large double en-suite bedroom, immaculately presented.A well stocked supply of tea and coffee, a large bottle of water, which was all refreshed daily and a freshly made drink on our arrival.The welcome we received was friendly and genuine.The house is a short walk from the centre of Crieff, where we dined in restaurants recommended by Paul each evening.Our breakfasts at the Merlindale were outstanding. A wide selection of starters and choices for freshly cooked, locally scourced produce.Nothing was too much trouble with any combination of perfectly cooked and presented choices offered to us.The attention to detail and the friendly nature of both Paul and his wife Helen,was a truly refreshing experience.Their website photos of their property and description of their hotel are totally accurate, even undersold!I have stayed at many hotels and B&B's over the last 40 years and this is right at the top! This was one of our favourites A warm and cosy place in a beautiful location. Our hosts were fantastic and made us feel very welcome. We chose a room with an exclusive bathroom across the hallway, because the room was large with a beautiful view. It all worked out well. The breakfast was great. We just wish we’d had longer there.

Luxury Guesthouse
Paul was the most gentlemanly host you could wish for. We stayed in the ground floor easy access Orchid Room. Malt whisky on arrival in your room if you wished to partake, and Paul appeared with tea for 2 shortly thereafter. Wonderful 2 headed walk-in shower in a large private en-suite. Everything immaculately clean. Paul advised us of restaurants and pubs in Crieff centre, only 10mins stroll away. Next morning full Scottish breakfast high quality (Stornoway black pudding) and more than an ample serving. Smoked salmon with beautiful scrambled eggs was the other of our 2 selections. Plenty selection of self serve “starters”, including delicious home made yoghurt. Everything consisted top quality ingredients. A generous heartfelt farewell from Paul ended our totally enjoyable stay.

We are in Aberdeen until our new home in Crieff is ready.As we had things to sort ready for our move we booked to stay at "Merlindale" B&B.Helen gave us such a warm welcome and absolutely nothing was too much. Such a beautiful immaculate B&B.Next morning we were greeted in the breakfast room by Paul. The room is like the rest of the house, beautifully decorated. Choice of breakfast items was brilliant and presentation amazing. This is our second time staying at Merlindale. Both Paul and Helen are the best hosts, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are all unique with comfortable beds and plenty of storage - and are super clean too! Breakfast is delicious and good quality with a selection of fruit juice, home made granola, muesli, cereals, natural yoghurt and fresh fruit to get you started. A good selection of hot dishes are available for the next course. Paul is front of house and caters for your every need and Helen does an excellent job of cooking the hot food and making the delicious granola!Definitely a great place to stay - we are looking forward to returning in the future.

This was our second stay at Merlindale and it won’t be our last. Paul and Helen are excellent hosts and go out of their way to make sure that your stay is comfortable in every way. We were staying in the Bramble room this time. Beautiful room with everything, and more (whiskey and homemade shortbread) you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Lovely decor and big comfortable bed. The roll top bath was bliss, the perfect way to end the day. The make up removing cloth is a great idea. Fluffybath sheets, dressing gowns and nice bathroom products all made our stay perfect.Paul welcomes you to breakfast in the morning and makes sure that you have everything that you need. The homemade yogurt, granola and muesli are all delicious. The cooked breakfasts are all made to order by Helen and again all perfect. I had the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon first morning and a selection of the Scottish breakfast items the second morning. David had full Scottish breakfast both mornings. All served with plenty of tea/coffee and lots of warm toast.Quick summary, Merlindale is the best wee B&B in Crieff, looking forward to staying again.Thank you Paul and Helen for sharing your beautiful home, it is an absolute delight to stay in the Merlindale.

Enjoyed another stay at Merlindale. We're always greeted with a warm welcome and looked after very well during our stay. The rooms are stunning, very comfortable and cerals have everything you need, even a little tot of whisky!Breakfast is relaxed with a wonderful selection of items to choose from including homemade yoghurt,muesli, jams.Excellent place to stay where you are so very well looked after. Had a fantastic stay here, Paul kindly greeted us after checking in time due to being stuck in heavy traffic on the way up.As our stay was for a wedding near by Paul kindly arranged taxis for us.Our room was superb, very clean & replenished daily.Breakfast was lovely, lots of variety to choose from.Fantastic hosts, from start to finish,Would recommend staying here again.

This is the bestB&B I have stayed in.It was clean, quiet, we stayed in The Thistle room where there was some whisky provided so we could have a wee dram. The owner's were warm and welcoming. The breakfast was superb. As I told them I would recommend Merlindale to everyone.

Beautiful Hotel
The Merlindale experience starts when you arrive and meet the host Paul. He is very welcoming and cheerful. Paul explained the layout of the hotel and then showed us to our room. The room (ours was the Orchid room) was very tastefully decorated and the bathroom was large and very modern. All areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean and warm throughout. The breakfast is excellent with lots of homemade cereal and yoghurt as well as the traditional breakfast items all of a high standard and expertly cooked by Helen, Paul’s wife. The hotel is situated just 5 minutes walk from the high street which has shops, restaurants, cafés and some bars. Paul was very helpful throughout our stay and nothing was too much trouble for him. As we had an afternoon pick up to take us to Edinburgh, Paul allowed us to leave our cases and do some more exploring around town.Thank you Paul and Helen for a great stay in your beautiful hotel.

Wonderful overnight stay
We had a very relaxing overnight stay at the Merlindale , the owners Paul and Helen were very friendly and helpful with Helen serving up a delicious made to order breakfast.The unexpected nip of whisky provided on the hospitality tray along with the usual tea and coffee was appreciated by my husband !Definitely recommend a stay there.

The Bramble Room - Merlindale
My wife and I have travelled extensively throughout Scotland over many years. We've stayed at countless hotels and more upmarket B & B. We tend to reside at Victorian buildings due to their history and superior craftsmanship. We arrived at Merlindale more than an hour earlier than the book in time (late October 2022) and decided to waste our time by reading in the car. Helen, on realising our early arrival, kindly came out to the car, explained our room The Bramble was ready for occupancy and invited us in. She was very pleasant and recommended numerous local restaurants for an evening meal. We found our room to be one of, if not the best we'd ever stayed in. Typical large Victorian bedroom. No curtains but there was no requirement as the original window wooden shutters were still in full operation. The super king bed was hard but comfortable whilst the room was beautifully decorated and spotless throughout. They even left a complimentary small decanter of whisky which was a lovely touch. The bathroom was spotless and expansive offering both a Victorian-style stand-alone bath or walk in power shower. Not a broken tile in sight. The following morning my good lady and I attended the dining room for breakfast where we were mmet by the co-owner Paul. He was cheerful, very polite, attentive without being over bearing. My good lady and I both opted for the full Scottish Breakfast - wow - piping hot and truly delicious.Cooked by Helen to absolute perfection and of generous proportions. Around 5.15 p.m. that day my wife and I walked the ten minutes to The Ghurkas Nepalese / Indian restaurant which is on the same stretch of road as the B & B. The two of us ordered Jaipuri Chicken, one portion of rice and one garlic nan. It was up there with the best we've ever tasted anywhere costing £33.00 odd for two representing superb value for money. It was a Monday night and the place was full by 18.00 hours with the phone constantly ringing off the hook in the background for carry out orders. What a gem of place in Crieff for lovers of Indian cuisine. Feeling somewhat bloated the following morning my wife and I decided to give the fully cooked traditional Scottish breakfast a miss and go light or so we thought. My good lady opted for simple scrambled eggs on toast whilst I opted for scrambled eggs with smoked Scottish salmon. We were sitting there smug with ourselves thinking we'd gone light on breakfast. Honestly when Paul brought out the scrambled eggs and salmon it was like most of the fish wrapped around the outer edging of the plate. I expected small token pieces of salmon mixed throughout the scrambled eggs but this resembled the whole fish minus the head, tail and fins. What a breakfast! I cannot speak for the other rooms in Merlindale but this is the best B & B we've ever stayed in or likely to stay in during our travels. Helen and Paul are both a credit to one another never mind their industry. 5 star rating across the board. Wonderful value for money.

This was not just any accommodation it was Merlindale accommodation. From bookingto arrival to most beautiful bedroom with luxury ensuite toscrumptious breakfast and to excellent hosts our stay was superb. Once a Merlindale user you won't want to stay anywhere else when in Crieff or surrounding area.First class thank you

As always - perfectly splendid!
Paul and Helen made us to feel welcome and comfortable. It's a treat to stop over (and enjoy the Victorian bath!). Breakfast was delicious, especially the Stornoway haggis.

From the moment we arrived Paul went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed. A large room packed with features and extra touches, a very welcome welcome dram in the room.Breakfast was the same with all the angles taken care of to a very high standard. Large selection of healthy options all the way to the full Scottish.

I booked the Merlindale as a stopover B&B on route from Leeds to Pitlochry, so to break our journey. We had no expectations & left the following day bowled over by the Merlindale in every aspect of service/accommodation standard. 10/10 in every aspect. Simply perfect.
Every during my stay here was excellent. The lovely room and facilities were all perfect. Paul and Helen were very welcoming and made me feel at home from the minute I met them until I checked out. The breakfast was second to none. I opted for the full Scottish both mornings and it was up there with the best I have had. Warm welcome and well run
My wife and I enjoyed our short stay at this friendly and very well run B&B. Paul gave us a warm welcome on arrival, along with a cup of tea to complement the home made shortbread and whisky in the room. Well equipped room, very clean and a good nights sleep.The high height of some fixtures on the shower roomwas a small challenge for my wife, but this was a minor observation on a great stay. Breakfast was excellent as well

Outstanding B&B in Crieff
This was our second stay at Merlindale and we found it to be as good as the first time. It is accessibly located on a main road , with off street parking, but we still found itquiet with no traffic or people noise troubling us in the ground floor , road-facing bedroom.The building itself is characterful, beautifully and imaginatively decorated.It is spotlessly clean,very comfortable and hasa feel of luxury.Paul is very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was excellent , with a temptingchoice of cooked to orderoptions but the home made granola with fresh fruit and yogurt did not disappoint. We think Merlindale is an exceptional B&B.

Lovely touches of water, homemade shortbread and a small decanter of whisky in the room. For ladies a make up removal cloth. Breakfast was generous with homemade muesli and granola. The cooked breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. Paul was always on hand if you needed anything topped up. A perfect stay and we will definitely be back. This B&B has top of the range facilities with so many nice additional touches that make the stay memorable. Tea/coffee offerings, chilled water and a 🥃 waiting in your bedroom with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast has everything you could wish for and is almost worth the visit to the Merlindale alone.Add in a wonderful friendly host and you have a place definitely on the must return list

My wife and I very much enjoyed a 3 night stay at the Merlindale. Our room (Bramble Room) and it’s spacious en-suite bathroom were tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. We slept well each night thanks to the comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious, with a good range of hot and cold options, including many homemade and locally sourced items. Helen and Paul are wonderful welcoming hosts. I thoroughly recommend the Merlindale, and will look forward to booking a room here when we’re in the area again.

Wonderful stay
We have just arrived home from a wonderful 2 night stay in the Gorgeous Merlindale B & B. The whole house both in the rooms and in public area was beautifully decorated with modern tasteful touches that take this B and B to more of a boutique hotel look.The welcome, hosting and breakfast on both days where 10 out of 10 felt so relaxed and at home. The food was delicious and no amendments or requests where a hassle everything was catered to.A few special touches we loved where the dram in room, homemade short bread!Another very helpful thing that the room had was Netflix’s which provided us with our boxset fix later in the evening.Honestly it would be hard to say this place isn’t a five star. Only extra they could add in my eyes would be bathrobes .If we are ever back in Crieff will 100% be back and recommending to many friends and family going forwardThanks again to the Merlindale for a wonderful weekend trip.Emma and Owen

Home from home with extra touches
My husband and I received a very warm welcome from Paul, and were shown to the Thistle bedroom, which was very tastefully presented (loved the shutters), with everything required for a comfortable 2-night stay.The large Shower Room was just across the hallway, and so Bath Robes and slippers had been provided. Paul then brought us tea and coffee, which we enjoyed with the home-made shortbread. The wee decanter of malt whisky for later was a lovely touch.Breakfast was a pure treat- juice, fruit, home-made yoghurt, muesli and granola,cereals, honey and jams, plus a hot breakfast of choice cooked to perfection by Helen. Paul and Helen are great hosts, treating everyone as a friend. Merlindale is certainly a `Home from Home with extra touches`, and to be highly recommended!

Delightful Discovery!
Cannot praise Merlindale highly enough! Exceptionally warm welcome from our hosts, Helen and Paul, set the tone for a wonderful weekend. Stunning decor throughout and beautiful rooms which are the equal of many top hotels. Extensive breakfast menu, all items superbly prepared and utterly delicious! We will definitely visit again.

What a great place to stay!
We were 2 couples who began our first visit to Scotland with a two night stop in Perthshire. Staying at Merlindale in Crieff gave us a wonderful start to our trip. Paul and Helen could not have been better or more helpful hosts and the accommodations and food were excellent. If you will be in the area and have a chance to stay at Merlindale, you should take advantage of it.

I can’t even begin to tell you how grateful I am that I choose this amazing place to stay. The hosts are so welcoming and friendly and went above and beyond to ensure my trip was great. What a lovely B&B, great breakfast, friendly hosts and a very comfortable room with all we needed! Only a short walk away from the town centre and space for the car. All the home made treats were a delight!

A most wonderful and pleasant stay. The hosts Helen and Paul are so attentive and helpful. I knew there was a possibility that we would arrive late, when I called the hotel to explain our circumstances, Helen was so accommodating to our needs, I felt comfortable and cared for straight away. The hotel was absolutely spotlessly clean, our room was bright, spacious and came with everything needed for our stay, the en-suite exceptional. The breakfast was fantastic, my favourite was the homemade yogurt which was very tasty.To conclude, and to be absolutely clear, our stay was a definite 10/10. Thank you Helen and Paul.

Very comfortable and great owner
Staying in the Bluebell room was a very pleasant surprise - the room was beautifully decorated and well equipped - but walk down the steps to the en-suite and we had the most amazing bathroom with a fabulous and large roll-top bath with provider bubble bath. With copious hot water and quick to fill it was perfect. Breakfast was great and the star was the homemade granola although the full Scottish was a close second. . Paul, the owner, was welcoming and a great host. Thank you.

Fantastic B & B in Crieff
I stayed at the Merlindale for the the first time this week, the welcome i received was second to none. Paul was very informative about the area and attractions and also recommended a couple of nice restaurants in Crieff.My room was superb, full of quality furniture and fittings. and i was welcomed with a wee dram of a very nice single Malt Whisky. the breakfast was absolutely fantastic with a wide choice of delicious foods and fruits.i will take my wife to the Merlindale for a treat, as i was so impressed with everything Paul and his team had to offer. Nothing was too much bother, hence my 8 out of 5 star revue.

Comfortable & very welcoming stay at Merlindale
I’m so glad to have discovered this fantastic b&b and have recommended it to friends. We generally do Airbnb these days but our stay at Merlindale for 2 nights was so fantastic we will actively try to return again! Paul is such a knowledgeable and friendly host and Helens breakfasts are worth staying for!- her home made granola is delicious before a very hearty cooked breakfast. The Orchid room was beautiful, with a really comfortable bed and lovely linens. The small touches like the range of teas & Scottish shortbread and lovely bathroom products were more akin to a five star hotel experience. Dont hesitate to book direct as they have great communications and very generous cancellation policies. They really care about their guests having a good experience.

A gem of a B & B
We stayed at Merlindale twice during our holiday up to Orkney and back home to break our journey each way. Sadly this was only for one night each time as this was one of the best B & Bs we have ever visited. The house is beautiful, lovingly refurbished and furnished by the owners. We had the ground floor Orchid room which was comfortable, clean and nicely decorated with a luxurious and spacious bathroom. A nice touch was a 'dram' in the room. Paul and Helen couldn't have been more welcomingand hospitable. The breakfast was served in a light and airy room and the food was delicious. We appreciated the presentation of the buffet area and the lovely homemade muesli, granola and the little bowls of fresh fruit. We would certainly recommend Merlindale and wish our hosts well.

Quite Simply Excellent !!
We stayed for 2 nights whilst watching the Senior Open at nearby Gleneagles.We were impressed with everything from the initial greeting to our departure.So many nice touches , amazing hosts, great rooms, really comfortable beds and linen , fabulous cooked breakfasts but also home made Granola etc.Thank you and we hope to return in the not too distant future.

Had an overnight stay at the merlindale, parking was secure and room was spotless and beautifully presented. Great shower and very comfy bed. Paul and Helen were very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was very tasty with a good selection of options and very attentive service. Would highly recommend and if ever back in Crieff would stay here again.

Paul and Helen could not of been nicer and we enjoyed all our chats.Why would you stay in a dull samey corporate hotel when you get much better service and surroundings here. I highly recommend the Merlindale for a stay in Crieff.

Wanted to stay here for some time after checking reviews, so took the opportunity when coming to the Seniors Open golf at Gleneagles, and found our high expectations exceeded.If you are in the Crieff area you must try and book.This is one of the best bed and breakfasts we gave stayed in.

The Merlindale is a very welcoming and comfortable B&B. Its a good centre from which to explore Perthshire. Paul and Helen are very good hosts and provided excellent service.The breakfasts were excellent and particularly would recommend Helen's home made granola. They have a very good knowledge of the area and are able to recommend places to visit.

Amazing B&B
We recently stayed at Merlindale for two nights at the beginning and end of our touring holiday (two different rooms). We couldn't have picked a better place to start and finish our holiday. The B&B is immaculate, clean, & comfortable. Beds, bathrooms and showers are great. Paul & Helen are lovely welcoming people and have thought of every little thing that makes this B&B stand out (it is possibly the best we've ever been to and we've been to a lot!). The breakfast is also outstanding, including the homemade granola!We will definitely go back to Merlindale, it is highly recommended.

The open golf trip
Without a doubt, the best b a b I have stayed in, Helen and Paul are a credit, the welcome was friendly and relaxed. The room was excellent with nice touches to details, very nice shower and very comfortable bed. Breakfast is first class with loads of choice, with an early start for the golf and on the day I left Paul and Helen accommodated me with an early breakfast, which was much appreciated. For any one wanting a fabulous B and B then look no further. Thank you for a wonderful stay, looking forward to returning in the future.

Booked this B&B for two nights for a golf trip .From the moment we arrived it was absolutely great .Paul was so welcoming and the B&B just fantastic.A bright large room with separate bathroom all clean with excellent facilities. All we had hoped for and more.
Definitely a gem Paul the proprietor couldn't have been more helpful and courteous, the whole building was spotlessly clean and the breakfast, we found it hard to settle on as the choices are plentiful and varied enough too to sate any appetite. I settled for a full Scottish and was glad I had Paul asked if what I wanted or didn't want on my plate it was all delicious and cooked to perfection. We have family in the area and Merlindale will be our first port of call if they have vacancies to suit our dates, the Merlindaleis 5***** in our eyes and Highly recommended, see you again soon.

Absolutely wonderful
We have just returned from our second visit to this wonderful B&B. As with our first visit everything was excellent. Comfy bed, fabulous bathroom and great choice of breakfast, but the best thing about this place are the hosts. Paul and Helen have thought of everything to make your visit enjoyable. The home is spotless and tastefully furnished. Nothing is too much trouble for this very friendly couple. We look forward to our next visit.

We were at a wedding at Comrie Croft over 3 days and used the Merlindale as our base. Helen and Paul have created a home from home with a decorative delight around every corner. So relaxing and welcoming, we wanted to stay longer. Special mention for the tremendous breakfast selection and the service with a smile. The photos don't do it justice. You won't be disappointed.

Paul’s an engaging professional host, always taking a time to support the guests. His attention to detail came to the fore during breakfast. We only had one night here, but would happily return. Paul and Helen made us so welcome..tea on arrival , a wee dram for later on, and so many home made goodies at the breakfast table. Our room was perfect with a comfy bed and a lovely bathroom.

Only stayed for 1 night as a stopover but would ooh d have gladly stayed a lot longer. Paul and Helen were fantastic hosts; nothing seemed to much trouble and everything was done with a smile.Big plus was been able to store my motorcycle in a lockable garage which is always a good thing. The room was clean and comfortable. Oh and the full Scottish breakfast is to die for! Special mention for Helen’s home made muesli.Would I stay again? Perfect place for Bride to be.
Our stay was top class, nothing but praise for these two owners Helen and Paul. From the moment we booked the beautiful Merlindale B&B in January 2022 till we arrived on the eve of my partners Daughters wedding in Comrie Croft, we were given first class treatment. From organizing a late check out for the Bride to be, too all our different breakfast requests from Vegan to gluten free optionsevery ask was met with an "of course, no problem" and smile. Each room was as beautiful as the other, the perfect place for a Bride to be to chill the night before her big day. The photographer, got amazing pictures in the Brides room, along with the best maid and Mother of the bride. We all can't thank Helen and Paul enough for the warm welcome and amazing hospitality. There is honestly too many amazing things to say about the Merlindale B&B, thank you both so much and hope to vist again soon.

After a 6 night stay at the Merlindale, we honestly say that the Room, facilities, hosts & breakfasts are superb.We visited Crieff to ride the “Crieff Cloverleaf”. Paul was happy to let us & other guests use the garage to store our motorcycles.Prior to arrival we were sent a list of local eateries, which we found useful as it was a double bank holiday & restaurants were busy.Paul is a excellent front of house host & Helen produces breakfasts that are superb. I went through the whole choice, each one being wonderful & the full Scottish really tasty. Good quality local produce. There is also a choice of home made produce which is excellent.The whole stay was excellent, Paul & Helen are a credit to the B&B industry & work hard to make your stay relaxing. Awesome stay
We stayed as part of our Scotland tour on a motorcycle and we had an absolutely lovely time staying with Paul and Helen. They are old school in that everything is perfect and nothing is too much trouble to make your visit memorable. Rooms are Immaculate and the breakfast is delicious and extremely filling. Touring on a motorbike Paul allowed me to put the bike in his garage and there was plenty of space to leave our jackets and helmets. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.

I chose Merlindale after reading some fantastic reviews from other guests and i can honestly say it lived up to all my expectations. The house is beautiful, rooms are tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The breakfast menu is varied and without doubt the best I have ever had in the UK. The hosts Paul and Helen were amazing. I arrived as a stranger and left like we'd known each other for years. They are genuinely interested in their guests and take time to offer help and advice to make sure your trip is enjoyed. This was my third visit to Merlindale and it is without doubt the best of places to stay. The welcome from Paul and Helen was just right and you are left feeling nothing is too much trouble. Superb - The service, the food, the rooms, just...the whole package, superb!
On arrival we had a quick turn round to get out to an event and Paul helped in any way he could with his local knowledge.The range of food on offer was broad, I particularly liked the availability of cranberry juice in addition to the standard orange and apply.Generous servings off food meant I was happy to let other have a taste of the excellent scrambled egg with the smoked salmon and as my wife couldn't finish all of her 'Full Scottish' I had to do the decent thing and help out!Paul, providing front of house service, was attentive, professional and light hearted. On the last morning we were the last to finish breakfast and were fortunate to meet Helen, who stepped out of the Kitchen to have a chat and we were able to thank her personally for her great work in providing a hearty, filling and tasty start to each day with excellent food.Wholeheartedly and unreservedly recommend the warm hospitality of MerlinDale for anyone, should they wish to visit this beautiful part of the world!

Such a delight!
Paul and Helen were a wonderful couple who went out if their way to make our stay special. Bed was super comfy, everything was spotless, huge downstairs bedroom with a slipper bath and large shower. Organised taxis for us to Lalique which was the purpose of our trip. Best of all, the home made waffles with maple syrup in the morning were to die for. If you’re in the area, don’t look anywhere else other than Merlindale….we won’t 💫

We stayed there 2 nights, whilst attending a wedding in Crieff. Paul and Helen could not have been more welcoming. Even the room refreshments included drams of whiskey.A beautiful house, beautifully furnished bedroom, excellent en suite. Very comfortable bed.Great choice of breakfasts, cooked to order, were excellent. Good location for walking into Crieff centre and Crieff Hydro. Definitely worthy of a 5 star, and future visits.

A return stay at Merlindale lived up to expectations.We were in the Bramble super king room with an amazing bathroom with enormous free standing bath.The little extra touches do not go unnoticed … offer of tea or coffee on arrival; shortbread & whisky decanter in the room.Breakfast is second to none!!Next time in Crieff we will return!!

We stayed for one night as we were attending a wedding in Crieff, however we wished we had more timein Merlindale as it was just amazing. Beautifully decorated throughout, and the owners were so lovely and attentive, we didn’t want to leave! We will definitely come back for a longer stay.

A little slice of luxury
I stayed here for my 30th birthday with my family and stayed in the bluebell room. The house is absolutely gorgeous, easy to get to and the owners are really friendly/thoughtful. The bluebell room has a gorgeous roll top bath in the centre of the bathroom (which is huge!) - definitely the type of hotel room I have always wanted to stay in. The decor in the house is absolutely gorgeous as well - we even had a little photo shoot on the chez lounge in the hall. Would highly recommend for anyone from wedding guests looking to stay in Crieff and tourists on-the-go to romantic getaways. The breakfast was great too and accomodated for veggies/vegans. Thank you for a wonderful stay :)

The 2 hosts where wonderful welcoming and couldn't do enough for us.The room was spotless and felt like wonderful luxury after staying in our campervan for the week.Breakfast was delicious, a good choice and served quickly and piping hot. Recently stayed here again as we love it so much. The welcome from Helen and Paul is amazing. The ambience in this gorgeous house is amazing. We just feel so chilled when we are there. The rooms are gorgeous as well. The breakfast has got to be up there at the top. Great choice and delicious.We can't wait to go back. Oh and we can't forget Louis the dog. He is just gorgeous and loves to meet people. Best B and B we have ever stayed in and certainly out does some hotels. Brilliant!

We were very fortunate to find Merlindale B&B. It ticks all the boxes. From the moment we arrived we had a very warm welcome from Paul nothing was too much trouble. The bedroom was very well appointed and the bed was extremely comfortable. There were some nice surprises waiting for us, homemade shortbread biscuits and a tot of local Malt Whisky. The en-suite was to a very high standard the shower was to die for. Breakfast was very high quality and was the perfect ending to our stay. We feel that this establishment deserves more than a four star rating.

We chose Merlindale on recommendation from the Glenturret Lalique Restaurant and it is easy to see why they are confident in the excellent standard offered here. The warmth and friendliness from booking through to the welcome we received made us feel very special. A lot of thought (and hard work) has gone into ensuringthe comfort of guests. Our room was beautifully decorated and the chandelier in the bathroom added a real touch of luxury! The welcoming drams helped chase away the stormy weather too! Breakfast was outstanding. First class - Perfection!
This is a beautifully appointed property. The hosts are so friendly and welcoming and utterly brilliant at what they do! The attention to detail and quality of service is fabulous. The bed linen, furnishings and bathroom were all high end and impeccably tasteful and in keeping with the property. The little extras go a long way-short bread biscuits and tea/coffee on arrival; make up flannels and lovely soap/conditioner etc!If that wasn't enough the breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious - with tonnes of choice.You won't need to eat anything else for the next 14 hours! This was definitely a 10/10 A star B&B. Even Louis the dog is pretty cute - we asked to meet him even though he is kept quietly behind the scenes!Thank you we will be back.

Spacious, yet cozy and comfy!
I stayed one night in the Thistle Room at Merlindale and it was such a warm and wonderful experience!The room is extremely spacious, but not so big where it loses the coziness!The bed and sheets are by far the softest I've slept on!!Paul and Helen are wonderful hosts. I would highly recommend Merlindale to anyone visiting Crieff / Perthshire!

We really enjoyed our two night stay at Merlindale. We arrived as guests and left as friends. The breakfasts are amazing.

We booked the Merlindale,as we were attending a Wedding at Comrie Croft,and boy,did we strike GOLD!! Helen and Paul made us so welcome,the room we had was amazing,and we had Helen's home made shortbread stars and a wee dram as a welcoming treat! Everything was first class from the toiletries, towels,decor,the breakfast was to die for! Paul was a very attentive'waiter' nothing was too much trouble,and Helen cooked the food just how we liked it! We couldn't find any fault,and would definitely stay with them again!

Beyond great
Amazing is not enough. Helen's warmth and kindness are beyond words. Late checking, she was there to receive me. Very early start she was there to receive me with an amazing breakfast (I did ask for a lot of things such as vegan, dairy free and more and all of them were met) and a smile. The room impeccable, quiet, comfortable, spacious, warm.Luxurious with a human touch.

Davecand I been coming here for a while now as we love it so much. Beautiful Victorian house with gorgeous decor. Brilliant hosts Helen and Paul are super attentive. The rooms are gorgeous and very comfortable. We have never had a breakfast as amazing as this. Home made yogurt, muesli and granola.We booked to go back in March 22 as we love it do much. Oh and don't forget the gorgeous Louis the dog who love to welcome you too. Brilliant

From the moment of booking and correspondence, Merlindale impressed. Paul greeted us on arrival and you couldn't ask for a warmer/genuine welcome. We were in the twin room and it was just lovely. The room was warm, mattresses heavenly, lovely shower and super comfortable and quiet.Homemade shortbread, proper coffee and selection of teas and breakfast was the tastiest and best ever! Home made marmalade and yogurt!!! fruit was delicious, hot breakfast was yummy. Thanks to Helen who did the cooking. The place is so close to everything that we dumped the car for the whole weekend! This is the best B&B I have ever stayed in. Where to start? Friendly and warm welcome. Tea and coffee brought to our room on arrival. Paul and Helen couldn’t do enough for us.Beautiful interior, freshly decorated in period style. Gorgeous and immaculate antique furniture. Soft, new bedroom carpet. Warm central heating. New, period double glazed sash windows. Everything spotless. Covid-safe. Little decanter of complimentary single malt whisky in room. Homemade shortbread and tiffin. Excellent range of teas and good coffee. USB ports in bedside wall sockets.Shower room pristine. Plenty hot water and a shower with great water pressure.Huge towels. Eco-aware, with minimal waste. In total, outstanding.

We really enjoyed our stay, even though it was only for one night. Derek agreed that I had made an excellent choice! Even the central heating breaking down didn't spoil our stay. Paul ensured that we kept warm, overnight, into the morning.

Gorgeous house and room with exceptional hospitality by the owners!
The house was absolutely stunning and the owners really know what they’re doing hospitality wise, from welcoming us, showing us to our room and then offering a tea or coffee and the breakfast was very good. Tbh the overall experience was better then most hotels we’ve stayed in!

A stormy but warm and welcoming stay in Crieff
I absolutely cannot fault this accommodation. The owners were so unbelievably kind and welcoming. The room was fantastic with a large bed, spacious area, and brilliant shower room. The food at breakfast was delicious and again excellent service from the owners.We stayed during a storm where there was a power cut. Owners went above and beyond to make us comfortable - provided lamps and candles, offered charging blocks and made food/hot drinks.We will definitely return if back in Crieff!!Thank you again :)

Fantastic Stay!
We had travelled from Grand Cayman to see family in Crieff and chose to stay at Merlindale. Paul and Helen were excellent hosts and have furnished and decorated Merlindale to a very high standard. The en-suite room was well appointed, clean with an exceedingly comfortable bed. The hotel is easy to find and easy to access. The Scottish breakfast was absolutely first class and we will definitely stay here the next time we are in Crieff. If you are looking for a bed and breakfast in Crieff then this is definitely the place to stay!

Outstanding B&B in Crieff
We overnighted at Merlindale in a chilly November to break up the very long drive from far NW Scotland home to the West Country. It was an excellent choice - an outstanding B&B in anaccessible location with private parking. It is within easy walking distance of the town centre. Paul was very welcoming . Everything was spotless. The buildingwas warm and comfortable,beautifully decorated and furnished . Our road-facing ground level room (Orchid) was quiet and undisturbed by any noise . Its en suite bathroom was outstanding for space, warmth, quality of fittings - and a wonderfully large shower.The anti Covid measures were being taken seriously which was very reassuring during this continuing pandemic. Breakfast was particularly enjoyable - the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon was as good as it gets - even the fresh coffee wasreally good !We would certainly stay there again.

I have not stayed in a better hotel/ band b as good as this one. It is run beautifully and the it is immaculate throughout. Value for money was outstanding and the breakfast superb. Will definitely spread the word and thanks for a magnificent overnight stay.

We were attending a wedding at a venue close to Crieff, it was starting early. We asked the owners if we could arrive early and leave our bags, even though room wasn’t ready,they were very accommodating and that was not a problem. The room was spotless and stunning to be fair, very classy. Breakfast in morning was freshly cooked and lovely. Attention to detail and customer focused without a doubt. Covid secure. My brother and I travelled to Crieff to visit family and we were delighted to have booked Merlindale B&B.It's a lovely home and we received a friendly welcome. The on-line booking, flexible arrival and departure times all operated smoothly and the twin room was very well prepared, spotlessly clean and warmly inviting.From the quality linen to all bathroom necessities to a nice drop of complimentary whisky for a 'night-cap' we couldn't have asked for anything else.We were however impressed further by the excellent breakfasts (full Scottish, fresh fruit, muesli, etc) and look forward to a return visit for more of the same!We highly recommend a stay at Merlindale to anyone thinking about booking.

Absolutely lovely place to stay!
From the moment we arrived, we were bowled over by the warm welcome and beautiful house, especially our huge double aspect room. Paul and Helen have got it spot on at the Merlindale!They have designed their guest house as the most comfortable and relaxing place to stay and the quality of everything from breakfast to the furnishings, the bathroom, toiletries and our wonderfully comfy bed was top notch. They have thought of everything to fulfil the needs of their guests and their personal touch is evident throughout. A truly superb guest house, we will definitely be returning to the Merlindale before long.

What a lovely, clean and very welcoming property. Paul and Helen were superb hosts and extremely attentive to all guests.The house is renovated to a very high standard and is immaculately presented.We loved our 2 nights there and felt we wanted to stay longer! Anniversary Break
Merlindale is easily one of the nicest places i have stayed . From the warm welcome from Paul and offer of coffee/ tea on arrival to been shown our lovely room , everything was excellent. The bed is so comfy , the ensuite huge with quality bedding, towels etc . The whole place is spotlessly clean as well . The breakfast was also so tasty and plentiful . Highly recommended.

Hard to imagine how they could have made the stay any better!!
Conveniently situated a short walk from Crieff's town centre, Merlindale is a beautifully refurbished period house, and the owners have obviously paid every attention to detail in ensuring the perfectly appointed rooms are everything you'd want from a B&B. The quality and thoughtfulness really shone through. Paul & Helen were extremely helpful and attentive, and made every effort to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. To top it off, the full Scottish breakfast was fabulous; and pretty much saw me through the day! I couldn't recommend Merlindale highly enough; this is a perfect place to stay when you're in Perthshire! Look no further for a wonderful break!

This was our second time staying at the Merindale .we had a lovely time.room very clean.the super king size bed very comfortable and the en suite bathroom was lovely with its victorian style bathtub.paul one of the owners is very chatty and a lovely person.the breakfast is beautiful .I wouldstay here again.and again plus you are only a 10 minute walk into town.

What can I say. Simply the best B and B we have ever stayed at and we have stated at plenty. As soon as you walk through the door you know you are in for a great experience. Paul and Helen are genuinely warm people and passionate about their business.The place is spotless, the decor lovely, the rooms warm clean and comfortable. Loads of extras to make your stay perfect.Breakfast in the morning simply perfect with loads of choice not to mention HOME MADE natural yogurt and muesli. The cooked breakfast if a very high standard. We left wishing we had booked in longer but feeling totally relaxed. Simply fantastic experience.

Wonderful!Better than any hotel!!!
We all had an amazing stay at the Merlindale. Wouldrecommend it to anyone planning to stay in or around Crieff. The bedrooms and bathrooms are amazing. So much better than any hotel I’ve stayed in!Huge bedrooms and bathrooms.(we didn’t want to get out of bed in the morning it was so comfortable but so glad we did as we would have missed out on the beautiful breakfast). Paul and Helen could not have been more hospitable. We are planning another stay soon. Can’t recommend it highly enough 🤩

A touch of grandeur
We had a very enjoyable stay in this elegant imposing villa on the edge of Crieff. The interior is beautifully decorated & the large bed was very comfy. We appreciated the dram of whisky & homemade shortbread in our room on arrival! The hosts couldn’t be friendlier or more helpful, & their cockapoo Louis is delightful (we asked to meet him). Whisky tasting at the Glen Turret Distillery was a wonderful experience - it’s been taken over by Lalique (Crystal) & the glasses, decanters & chandeliers are exquisite, & the staff very attentive & informative (about whisky & Lalique). We would like to come back & dine there. We had a lovely couple of days in Crieff.

Warm welcoming, very nice and supportive hosts, good rooms with everything one need, marvellous breakfast (even the haggis choice) - all in all a place well worth visiting.

Nothing was too much trouble
We stayed at the Merlindale on Saturday night in early October whilst visiting the area for a pre-arranged dinner.As the title of this review states, nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. The B&B is spotlessly clean, supremely comfortable, convenient, and welcoming.I can say with absolute conviction that we will indeed be back and I encourage anyone visiting the area to check availability at the Merlindale before considering any other options.Apologies for the pompousness of this statement, I could not think of another way of putting this and still getting the point across, we are very well-traveled and very used to hotels with 5-star ratings and as such feel legitimately able to state that whilst the Merlindale may not have 24hr rooms service or heated pool and spa etc... in every other sense this is 5* accommodation.P.S> Breakfast was terrific.

Girly Weekend
First visit to Crieff and we had a great stay. Very welcoming B&B. Paul was absolutely lovely and very attentive.Our room Was beautiful and breakfast was great, excellent choices.the place was absolutely spotless and loved the wee dram that was in the room, excellent idea. The only downside was not having no ensuite facilities, although bathroom was 100% for our use. It was inconvenient having to leave our room to use the facilities. The bedroom is huge and I feel it would benefit guests if an ensuite was installed.Will definitely go back again 5* B&B.

A Real Gem!
In need of a few days relaxing and doing nothing in paricular the Merlindale proved to be a real gem. The hosts Helen and Paul were fabulous. Helen greeted us in a friendly manner and showed us to our room which was spacious, very clean and turned out to have an amazingly comfy bed. Paul was also very friendly and gave a few hints on places to visit or to eat in the evening. They allowed us to eat a takeaway meal in the dining room and even set a table for us. The breakfast was excellent and I would say it would be difficult to find a higher standard. We booked direct with the Merlindale which was so straightforward as was checkout. Overall, highly recommend for an enjoyable stay in Crieff at a very good price.

Perfect, just perfect
This is the 3rd time we have been here. We just love everything about staying here. Amazing hosts Paul and Helen meet you a lovely greeting. Then take you to your room.We have always had the Bramble room. It's just heaven and has a surprise through a door in the bedroom.Worth looking it up. The breakfasts are just brilliant.Lots of choice plus home made yogurt, granola and muesli. Lovely. We just feel at home when we are here and can't wait to go back. Oh and we can't forget the gorgeous Louis.He is such an adorable dog. Louise and Dave xx

I was very pleasantly surprised. One of if not the best I have stayed in on my travels throughout Scotland. Very welcoming and attentive hosts. Extremely well appointed rooms and decor. Spotlessly clean and immaculate bathroom. Extra special touches in the room to welcome you. Breakfast was of highest quality, generous and beautifully presented if you appreciate that kind of thing. Plenty of off the road parking. Chatting to guests at breakfast this was their 3rd time returning and it wasn't hard to see why.

Having stayed here before I was keen to bring my wife when we were visiting Scotland together. I was pleased to say she was suitably impressed (which takes some doing I can tell you ! ????).Again the room and facilities were perfect, the breakfast absolutely lovely and we were both made to feel very welcome by our hosts,Thanks for a lovely relaxing stay.

Best stay we’ve ever had
We had a wonderful stay at the Merlindale! The room and the rest of the B&B were beautiful, modern, spacious and spotless. Breakfast was second to none with lots of options including a full scottish, fresh porridge and homemade museli with homemade yogurt. The shortbread biscuits, whiskey, selection of teas and toiletries were nice touches. The owners Helen and Paul were really welcoming and friendly and even took the effort to remember us by name at breakfast. Overall, the stay felt homely and luxurious and well worth the money. (Just note that it can be a little tricky to get in and out of the parking bays)

Wonderful stay
From the afternoon we arrived until the morning we left, we had a wonderful welcome and stay. Merlindale is a charming property, the bedrooms are luxurious with a large comfy bed, beautiful accessories and seating and an ensuite with a roll top bath, spacious shower and all the toiletries you could possibly need. Tea and coffee facilities were provided plus home made short bread and "A Wee Dram". The breakfasts were beautifully cooked by Helen, plus an extensive range of cereal, fruit, yoghurt etc was available. Paul was always on hand, extremely helpful and a mine of information with suggestions for things to see and visit with printed maps and directions for us. We were looked after as though we were family and would thoroughly recommend Merlindale to anyone. Hope to visit again in the future. Second visit toMerlindale and wasn’t disappointed at all. Took my wife to Crieff for a break whilst recovering from serious illness. Paul and Helen very attentive as always. Room immaculately clean and well presented. Both Paul and Helen very charming and nothing was an issue. Room always topped up with the essentials daily and breakfast was absolutely delicious with a wide variety highly recommended Helen’s home made natural yoghurt followed by smoked salmon on bed of beautifully cooked scrambled egg. Merlindale is walkable to the town centre, and the property is a lovely traditional stone villa which is beautifully presented. Our ground floor room was perfect with a large luxurious en-suite. The hosts, Paul & Helen, provide a very warm Scottish welcome. Breakfast was excellent. Overall this experience was exceptional

Just had an overnight stay and cannot rate the Merindale high enough. Paul and Helen are lovely hosts who cannot do enough for you. We stayed in the Bramble which was spot;essly clean, the bed was so comfortable with luxurious bed linen to the beautiful en-suite with the fabulous roll top bath. The level of attention to detail was fantastic including a wee dram for us to enjoy in the room. The breakfsst choices were endless and service amazing. We cant recommend the Merlindale highly enough and we will certainly be back.

Our hosts went above and beyond to be kind and helpful from being made tea with homemade shortbread on arrival, to getting up very early to make us breakfast, and then driving us to the Glenturret Distillery.The room was lovely and very comfortable.I would love to stay at the Merlindale again.

This was probably one of the best B & B we have stayed at. It was immaculate and the gift of hospitality provided by the owners Paul and Helen was exceptional. Especially during these times the attention to detail about ensuring care and protection of those staying was very reassuring. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable and the breakfast could not be bettered. Paul and Helen created a very relaxed and calm atmosphere while still taking time to ensure dietary needs were more than met. We will certainly stay there again if we were in the area but would highly recommend it to others looking for accommodation in the Crieff area. Merlindale was an excellent place to stay, from the first moment we arrived both Paul and Helen were extremely friendly and welcoming. Bedrooms were very clean with extremely comfortable beds and pillows! Breakfast was amazing with excellent choice catered for all (including vegans). Couldn’t fault the 3 night stay there and will 110% return when back in Crieff.

My sister, Catriona, and myself were in Crieff for a family reunion recently and we were so lucky to get the last room at Merlindale for the date we required. We had a fantastic stay at Helen & Paul's beautiful home and they couldn't have been nicer, thank you. Every single little detail was thought of and the decor & furnishing were sublime. The breakfast was cooked to perfection and l would certainly recommend the Merlindale to family & friends.

Fantastic stay
On arrival we were treated by very friendly Paul and shown to a lovely spacious room. Our stay was very quiet and comfortable. The breakfast on Sunday morning was of a high standard and very tasty and served by friendly face, namely Paul. On booking out we were sent on our way by both Paul and Helen after a lovely friendly conversation. We will be going back and have already made another booking. Thanks to both Paul and Helen for a relaxed and comfortable stay.

Merlindale - Five Star Service
We just had a one night stay and cannot rate everything about the Merlindale highly enough, from the fantastic welcome from Paul and Helen, to the beautiful en-suite bedroom with stunning roll top bath. The little touches just made our stay even better - we were offered coffee or tea in our room on arrival, there was even a dram for us to enjoy in the room. Breakfast the next morning was just amazing, nothing was too much effort and the choices were endless. I can’t recommend the Merlindale enough and hope to stay again.

Best B&B I\'ve every stayed in!
Paul and Helen were extremely welcoming from the moment we arrived. We stayed in the Bluebell room and we loved it, especially the enormous freestanding bath! We wish we had booked to stay longer. There were thoughtful touches in our room, including gluten free snacks for me.Breakfast was delicious with big portions. Lots to choose from including lots of home made yogurt and granola. Gluten free alternative was provided for myself.Paul was very helpful with recommendations on what lochs to visit and towns. He even printed is a map.Thank you for having us and we look forward to staying at the Merlindale again in the not to distant future.

Best B&B in Scotland
This was our second visit and we’ll definitely visit again. Lovely room, lovely hosts and an excellent breakfast.The location is a five minute walk from the town centre and also perfect for the Crieff Cloverleaf tourist route. The roads and scenery are fantastic.Highly recommended.

exceptional quality and service
A group of six, we only stayed one night but it was top notch and we will definitely return. The rooms were lovely, thoughtfully decorated and fitted, and had some nice touches - robes and a wee nip of malt. Breakfast offered a good choice for everyone and was provided with a great deal of thought given to Covid measures. Paul and Helen were ideal hosts and deserve great success with Merlindale.

A lovely break away
My hubby and I stayed at the merindale on 14th August 2021.we had a lovely stay and the bed was so comfortable.the room was immaculately clean.the bathroom was gorgeous .the breakfast was delicious.so much to choose from.paul one of the owners was such a lovely person.we were just a short stroll to the town and amenities.we would highly recommend the merindale Hotel.and yes we'd go back again.andrew and Angela.

Best guest house we have ever stayed in
The host Paul was very welcoming and instantly learnt all our names. I chose the Orchid room which was sumptuously decorated and had a large en-suite shower room. The two rooms upstairs were were also large and beautiful.Breakfast was delicious. Options included homemade muesli and granola, porridge, croissants etc followed by scrambled egg with a very generous portion of smoked salmon or a very full Scottish breakfast. Everything was served to us at the table and we felt very spoilt. After eating it was a pleasure to meet Helen and the gorgeous cocker poo LouieWe would definitely recommend staying at Merlindale

Absolutely stunning
We stayed in an absolutely beautiful room with a separate private bathroom. The room itself was modern and the bed was extremely comfortable. The hosts Paul and Helen were lovely and made us feel extremely welcome. The breakfast was again absolutely beautiful and presented to a very high standard. Our overall visit was 5 stars. We would definitely stay here again.

WOW what a Gem
This is such a lovely find, to call it a B&B is doing it an injustice because this is more of a boutique guest house but with the warmest of welcomes, there are a lot of lovely little touches that make your stay special but you need to go and find them out for yourself, I don't want to spoil the surprise. Paul and Helen are the friendliest of hosts you could wish to meet, every guest is important to them, my son is totally blind but Paul used his name all the time so as to involve him in the conversation and made sure he was aware of what was happening around him. They go above and beyond to make your stay memorable, I only wish we could have stayed longer but we will be back. Give Paul and Helen a ring you won't be disappointed.

What a find! From the much needed cup of tea when we arrived, to the large spotless room, the fantastic breakfast and the French Restaurant next door, this has to be the best B&B we've ever stayed at!

Exceptional quality
The tone for our stay was set from the warm and genuine welcome we received at the front door.A complimentary dram and offers of a freshly made cuppa with shortbread said “welcome to our home”.The room was everything we hoped for, beautifully decorated, very clean and with a beautiful en-suite.Our only draw back was that being positioned on the ground floor at the front of the house meant that there was a lot of noise when guests were coming and going. People were clearly oblivious to the fact that we were there and as a result stood at the front door or in the hall chatting, which gave us an issue.This aside, I cannot fault the accommodation, our hosts or the food, everything was exceptional.Already working out how to get a short break arranged and when I do I’ll be booking again.Thank you Paul and Helen

Myself and partner had a fantastic overnight stay at the Merlindale. Pre check in call from Paul to welcome us and to arrange check in. Paul was fantastic host and provided great recommendation for eating out in Crieff. We stayed in Bluebell room which was beautiful. Rooms are fantastic size and en-suite with roll top bath was amazing. On day of check out we had a fantastic breakfast which was made to order and had loads of variety. Compliments to the chef as food and coffee was lovely.Will happily recommend Merlindale to all my friends and family and will 100% stay again if we are in area.Thanks again for a fantastic stay.James & Ali

What a gem of a place
We have just returned from a 5 night stay and we we’re sad to leave. We arrived at a stunning house and greeted by Paul the host and his wife Helen who were extremely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. This was the first time visiting Crieff and we loved it. We wanted to explore this area on our motorbike and we fell in love with the stunning views and excellent roads on the doorstep. We also followed some routes by Crieff Cloverleaf. Our room was outstanding the decor and layout truly stunning. The en suite was large and it had a Victorian roll top bath to soak in which was a real treat. The bed was very very comfortable the linen high quality which all led to the best nights sleep away from home ever. “The main event” the full Scottish breakfast set you up for the day and there were other options. At breakfast in the dining room Paul was very attentive as front of house and Helen cooking up a storm in the kitchen. COVID cleanliness was spot in the bedrooms/en suite and dining area were immaculate. We will be back most definitely. We highly recommend Merlindale for a quality comfortable stay.

My daughter and i stayed for a few nights, our room was beautiful, big, bright and luxurious. Very soft bedding, soft lovely smelling big bath towels, good condiments in the room and a wee dram which was just the ticket at the end of the day.The choice of breakfast was excellent, catering for dietary needs and well presented. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts who were so friendly. This is very well run and fully deserving of the 4 stars.This has been our favourite place to stay in Crieff and we will be back.

Top class accommodation in Crieff
Paul and Helen make excellent hosts of the Merlindale. Very comfortable and clean rooms with everything you need. You will not be disappointed with the quality and choice of breakfast. If we return to Crieff this will be our first choice for accommodation.

Wow! what a find!!
We needed somewhere to stay and use as a base for riding a number of motorcycle routes called the Crieff Cloverleaf and boy did we drop lucky!The property is very well presented and the room we stayed in (Orchid) was newly renovated to very high standard with a huge comfortable bed and large en-suite. As well as being well stocked with tea, coffee and fresh water there was also an abundance of 13a and usb power outlets which is a big plus for motorcyclists and is usually overlooked by most hotels/B&B's. The 'wee dram' on arrival was very much appreciated too :).The breakfast was like a three course meal and if taken in full you definitely won't be needing lunch! It consisted of fruit/yogurt and cereal followed by toast and marmalade/honey etc which was then followed by a full freshly cooked breakfast, all washed down with a plentiful supply of tea/coffee/juice.Paul and Helen are the perfect hosts and were extremely friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Paul's knowledge of Scotland and the fact that he is a fellow biker helped us make the most of our tours by suggesting little hidden gems along the routes which helped make this trip a truly memorable one and the fact that there was a garage for storing our bike and a selection of tools available should we have needed them made this the perfect place for us.In summary this is a gem of a place which is excellent value for money and in my opinion sets the bar to which all B&B's should strive to achieve.

Can’t rate it highly enough - outstanding!
I honestly can’t rate this B&B highly enough. It was so great that we have booked to stay again in October! On arrival we were greeted by Paul who took us to our room which was absolutely beautiful and so clean and comfortable. We were given a fresh tea and coffee with homemade shortbread which went down a treat. In the morning, Paul was very attentive and nothing was any trouble. Helen his wife is the talent behind the breakfast which was delicious. My partner ordered a full Scottish and he commented that it was better than the one he had at the Old Course in St Andrews! We were quick to feed this back to Paul and Helen. The Merlindale is truly a very special place that is made by the hosts Paul and Helen. We honestly can’t wait to come back and I would recommend the B&B to anyone who is looking for a 5* experience!

Best ever!
I cannot recommend this enough! Warm welcome with a cup of tea and home-made shortbread (or a wee dram). Comfortable bed, within easy walking distance of the town, and breakfast was amazing, with home-made Greek yoghurt, muesli and fresh fruit. Definitely the best accommodation i have booked!

So welcoming
We stayed here for one night in mid July and found it very comfortable.We had the Bluebell room which has the most amazing en suite bath and shower room, really luxurious. The host provided a little decanter so we had a complimentary “wee dram” which was a lovely touch.Comfortable nights sleep and one of the best breakfasts we’ve ever had. Full vegan provision, ample portions and excellent presentation - little touches that made all the difference. We highly recommend this place and would definitely return.Can’t fault a thing!

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, well worth the money.
A really lovely hotel, the room I stayed in was fantastic with bathroom on suite. The owners Paul and Helen are such lovely people. So accommodating..I was on a motorcycle trip touring Scotland and used Crief as a base to explore the fantastic roads local to Crief. I struck gold as Paul himself rides and has a large garage he's happy to put your bike in for safe keeping, he also has racks to store all your gear. I'll definitely be returning a few times yet.

Peace and Tranquillity
I've just stayed for 2 nights at the Merlindale and found it to be a special place, it's a beautiful home and is spotlessly clean. I stayed in two rooms because I added an extra night and both were immaculately furnished and very comfortable. Paul and Helen couldn't have been more helpful and it's fair to say that the breakfast was one of the best I've ever had...absolutely brilliant!!

Stayed 2 days last week at Merlindale.It is clear that Paul and Helen have carefully maintained this lovely Victorian villa.Gracefully decorated and spotlessly clean.The bedroom was well proportioned and the bed was super comfy.Breakfast was excellently prepared by Helen and Paul made the service charming and relaxed. Excellent B and B in Crieff
Helen and Paul were simply wonderful hosts. Very welcoming and taking an interest in each guest. Beautiful décor throughout the house, thick carpets and tastefully decorated with attention to detail in rooms. Even had welcome drink of whisky in our room on arrival. Fantastic breakfast including home made yogurt and fruit before a hearty full Scottish breakfast. Our Bramble room was really comfortable with large double bed the width of two singles and an enormous ensuite bathroom with Victorian bath to soak in and large separate shower. Very convenient for centre of Crieff; 10 minutes walk into the centre.

Nicest place we stayed during our trip
Merlindale was a very pleasant surprise for us! The one night we stopped in Crieff was meant to be a pit stop to break the journey up a bit so we didn't really have high hopes for this B&B. It turned out to be so nice that we decided to spend most of our Crieff stay in our very spacious and light room. It had an amazingly comfortable bed and softest sheets ever! Everything was very clean, decor modern and thought through, great warm welcome from Helen and Paul- excellent breakfast and service, they clearly take a lot of pride in what they do.
